Participants will be asked to bring their own photography gear and cellphone if they have one. However, if someone does not currently own equipment, they will still be able to participate.

This group will focus on teaching the foundations of photography in a hands-on and encouraging environment. Topics will include manual camera settings, aperture, ISO, shutter speed, the exposure triangle, composition, proper equipment care and maintenance, an overview of different camera and lens options, creative and technical photography techniques, various photography genres, editing software, white balance, and more.

In addition to learning photography skills, I will intentionally incorporate the sermon questions from the weekly sermon and connect creativity back to our faith, recognizing that our creativity reflects who created us, the Lord.

We will meet in Classroom 205 and utilize both indoor and outdoor areas of the church to practice capturing different lighting scenarios. We also plan to take occasional field trips to other locations so participants can gain experience shooting in a variety of environments and lighting conditions.

As part of our outreach, the group will also host a “Blessing Session Day,” where families or individuals from the community can come for free photo sessions. During this time, we will pray over them and provide scripture cards as a way to encourage and bless them while also giving group members real-life experience serving others through photography.
