Part 4: Eliminate Double-Mindedness

This message focused on how doubt quietly weakens our faith by dividing our hearts. Double-mindedness isn’t just occasional uncertainty, it’s trying to stand with God while still clinging to fear, control, or worldly security. In James 1 it describes this person as unstable, like a wave tossed by the wind, unable to fully receive from the Lord.

Faith works through love (Galatians 5:6), but doubt disrupts that flow. When our trust is split, our expectation lowers and fear begins to grow. Like Peter walking on water, faith remains steady when our eyes are fixed on Jesus, but when focus shifts to the wind, we begin to sink.

Double-mindedness competes with full loyalty to God. Jesus said we cannot serve two masters. Faith flourishes where allegiance is clear.

To overcome double-mindedness, we must:

  • Settle the question of God's goodness.
  • Decide His Word is final.
  • Remove “backup saviors.”
  • Cultivate love for Him, not just belief in His power.

The heart of the message was clear:

Stop wavering. Choose wholehearted devotion. Because faith cannot thrive in a divided heart.
